Back-story: Elvis and the Zoo voiced their craving for a Fat Darrell® during the 4/18 show. After learning of this from a friend, Darrell emailed them and offered to drop off a batch. After reading the email on the air on 4/19, they called and asked Darrell to drop by between 7 and 8am on 4/20. Unfortunately, when Darrell got to the vendor he was going to have prepare the sandwiches, they had run out of mozzarella sticks due to a mix-up between the shop owners regarding Darrell's promise to the Zoo crew!
By the time a rush "mozzy" stick run was made, it was already 8:15 and Darrell still had an hour drive to make to the studio - but the show ends at 10am each morning so the race against time was on! The race against rush hour traffic and bad directions (courtesy of a website that we won't mention) was also on!
Elvis and the crew began to give the play-by-play on the phone as Darrell navigated traffic and searched for parking in the crowded city. By the time Darrell hit the parking deck of the studio, it was already 9:40 - but he made it into the studio in the knick of time to complete his mission and provide the Zoo crew with the number one sandwich in the nation. The result was the following interview to close out the show!
